No news is...

Good news!

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple days. Dad's visit to the doc yesterday went great. It was his best day yet since surgery and they gave him a green light to come home. Mom and Dad drove about halfway last night, and I just got a text from Dad saying they crossed the ohio river and are back in Kentucky!

Hopefully Dad will make it the rest of the way home in a couple hours and be resting in his house.

In Cleveland longer

I left Sunday to come back to Lexington. Dad had his follow up visit yesterday and it was a mixed bag. He had gained a significant amount of water weight since his last weight check in the hospital. The fluid was around his lungs (his heart continues to look good). Also Dad is still in considerable pain. The Doctor told him to avoid sodium (which is hard when you are living out of a hotel room) and changed his water pill. He is going to have another follow up appointment on Thursday morning to make sure everything is OK for him to make the trip back to Lexington.

Pray for Dad that he continues to heal, and that he can figure his dietary restrictions out while in a hotel room. Pray for my Mom that God would give her strength and that she would know how to love and help Dad in this time.

Lake Erie

Dad, Mom and I went to lake Erie this morning. Dad continues to improve. The trip was a bit tough on him thanks to all the potholes, but we all enjoyed the nice weather. Dad has been able to get up from the bed on his own. He also rested well last night, so all is going great! Thank you so much for your prayers!
